Birmingham Bowel Clinic proud to support "Charity Hurts 3- Boxing for bowel cancer" fundraising event

The Birmingham Bowel Clinic is proud to announce that they helped to raise over £10,000 for the Bowel Disease Research Foundation (BDRF) during an exciting white collar boxing entertainment event presented by Fighting Fit City Gym "Charity Hurts 3- Boxing for bowel cancer”.

Mr Tariq Ismail, Consultant Colorectal Surgeon of the Birmingham Bowel Clinic, sits on the fundraising committee of the charity and helped to arrange the event which was held in Birmingham on 9th September. Mr Ismail kindly donated his own Muhammad Ali boxing glove, signed by the boxing legend, which was auctioned during the evening raising an impressive £2,500 for the charity.
The night packed a great punch! Over 320 people attended the event which specialises in taking everyday professionals and getting them in the boxing ring, under the training of Fighting Fit Gym, Birmingham.
Charity Hurts 3 saw 12 fighters over five exciting boxing rounds- including Raj Ranna (Owner, Itihaas Restaurant- who kindly provided the evening’s excellent Indian Cuisine), Bruce Thomson (Director, Baker Goodchild Direct Marketing), James Picken (Barrister, St Ives Barristers Chambers) , Guy Hunter (Dr, Heartlands Hospital) take to the boxing ring to prove that charity can hurt!
They were joined by a team of professionals from Fighting Fit City Gym which helped raise vital funds for the charity to fight bowel cancer and promote research into bowel disease.
