How long will I wait?Patients can usually be seen within one week of referral to the clinic
You meet with the consultant who will take a detailed clinical history of your problem. A physical examination may then be carried out. The consultant will then explain what may be causing your symptoms and offer you treatments or arrange any further investigations that may be necessary. The whole consultation and examination will normally last for 30 minutes.
A full range of investigations are available at the Priory or Nuffield Hospitals which can usually be arranged within a week of the consultation.
After you investigations or any treatments you will normally be seen back in the clinic. Follow up consultations may involve a further examination and normally last 15 minutes.
No you do not, many patients attending the clinic do not have private healthcare insurance- see below
The initial out patient consultation will normally be if a short telescope test is carried out at the same visit this will be charged separately and a further charge is payable to the hospitals.
If you require any special investigations or treatments a full range of costs is available from the Priory Hospital and Nuffield Hospital which include fixed price packages and payment options.
You will need a letter of referral from your GP or referring physician if coming from outside the U.K. This can be faxed, posted or emailed or you can bring it with you to your appointment.
