Mr Bruce Sutherland CBE

Over the last 18 months I have been an in-patient twice at the Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle and three times at the Priory Hospital in Edgbaston. On every occasion I have received wonderful care for which I am very grateful.
The reason I write to you is that in my recent stays at the Priory in April and earlier this month, I received such superb attention that I have to report it.
Without exception, everybody, from my consultant, Mr Tariq Ismail, through to the nursing staff in Intensive Care in Dudley Suite, the physios and catering staff to the cleaners, were at all times wonderfully attentive, caring and cheerful and have given me the ultimate in tender loving care.

In particular, Mandy Smart, the colorectal nurse was outstanding.  She gave me wonderful care when I was in the hospital and, since I have come home, she telephones regularly to ask if I am well and if there is anything she can do to help me or my wife.  Getting used to having a stoma bag is quite a big thing and, in this, as in everything else, the Priory was magnificent.

I have to congratulate you on your superb staffing of the Priory and the management of Ellen Lombardi and her sisters which has produced such a highly motivated and, above all, happy response from all concerned.
I am deeply grateful to have experienced this.
